Job Summary:

Successful BSN/Licensed RN candidates will have experience in quality improvement, and/or project management, and/or implementation work.

We are looking for team players who can work with a diverse interprofessional team to drive Quality, improvement, and innovation in the Oncology service line.

The Oncology DMT Coordinator will have operational responsibility for the oncology disease specific sites and their associated activities through the continuum of that disease management (prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment etc.) This includes driving and developing new strategic initiatives.
The Coordinator will work to promote the implementation of evidence-based practices and resolve deficiencies within their sites. The Coordinator will facilitate assessment, planning, and implementation to develop a well-coordinated Quality Management Program for each disease site. This individual will act as the central point of contact for all oncology process improvements, data management, and coordination of programs for the disease sites for all quality and regulatory initiatives.

Job Description:

Operations

  • Facilitates, motivates, and manages multidisciplinary disease sites, teams, and clinical staff to develop and implement new strategic initiatives.
  • Develops effective assessment tools, care management guidelines, and pathways at all points in the care continuum of specific disease sites.
  • Communicates with director, department staff, and administrative leadership as needed to keep them informed on disease site updates and initiatives.
  • Participates on any committees or working groups deemed necessary for the oncology department and specific disease sites.

Financial Accountability

  • Assists department leaders in identifying capital budget equipment needs that support the strategic initiatives within the specific disease management teams.  
  • Interprets and analyzes the data to assess, plan, and develop business proformas which support the strategic plan of oncology disease management teams.

Quality

  • Responsible for identifying, creating and managing disease specific quality dashboards to monitor identified quality metrics.
  • In collaboration with Quality Performance team, develops and manages performance improvement plans to meet identified quality goals.

Professionalism

  • Demonstrates management and leadership skills in leading teams.
  • Participates in hospital system activities to support department and healthcare system goals/initiatives.
  • Participates in community benefit activities and outreach to enhance the visibility of the healthcare system and collaborative relationships.
  • Ensures personal program growth and development through education and/or certification

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

  • BSN. Licensed RN. Meets requirements for RN licensure in state where work is performed and obtains license within three months of employment.

Specialized Knowledge: 

  • Knowledge of performance improvement activities and methodologies; Knowledge of Oncology programs and specific accreditation and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ability to analyze and make improvement recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate diverse groups across a system.

Kind and Length of Experience: 

  • 5 years healthcare industry experience, including demonstrated progressive healthcare leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines including physicians.
