Job Summary:

Reporting to the Practice Manager, the RN provides clinical support to the physician and mid-level providers. The RN provides instructions to patients as directed by the providers. The RN is also responsible for compliance with all OSHA/CLIA and HIPAA regulations and ensuring completion of all duties vital to business operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and uphold SEPs Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Document in chart the appropriate patient history and prepare patient for exam.
  • Provide patient care by giving clear direction to the patient, address patient concerns about the exam.
  • Document appropriately in-patient chart.
  • Ensure completion of all forms vital to the revenue cycle (i.e. verification/clarification of orders, waivers for non- covered services, encounter form)
  • Provide instructions to patient under direction of the provider(s). Ensure complete and accurate information in patient chart.
  • Maintain adequate level of supplies in exam rooms and workstation. Clean and disinfect exam rooms.
  • Perform cleaning, maintenance, and/or sterilization of equipment and instruments.
  • Report malfunction of equipment to appropriate supervisor. OSHA, CLIA and HIPAA compliance.
  • Assist with completion of patient requests.
  • Completion of referral process/outpatient test scheduling, and precertification. Timely and accurate filing/distribution of all patient information.
  • Interact with Central Billing Office as needed to resolve patient issues.

EDUCATION:

Minimum: Graduate of accredited nursing program.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

Please describe the minimum amount of experience required to perform the position duties.

6 months to 1-year experience preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Ability to learn other computer skills. Must have good organizational skills and work professionally with doctors, hospital administration and management, SEP employees and the public. Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team-based decision-making culture. Demonstrated ability to work independently resulting in effective outcomes and on-time performance. Experience in planning and coordinating multi-disciplinary communications strategies, strategic initiatives, and events. Must respond and follow through to requests from customers promptly. Must work carefully and precisely with attention to detail. Must utilize resources wisely. Performs duties willingly and with initiative.  Shares necessary information so co-workers can do the same.  Cooperates with other departments and work groups.
