Job Summary:

Professionally trained individual who produces high quality radiographs for all interventional studies, assists with sterile setup, and maintains sterile technique throughout procedures.

Job Description:

  • The technologist must fulfill all the duties described under registered technologist as well as have an excellent understanding of sterile technique, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Review patient history for patients condition.  Take precautions to check for possible adverse reactions.
  • Follow the safety steps required to perform their duties and follow medical, state and federal safety standards.  They must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriately.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform all skills and competency of special procedures level I plus demonstrate knowledge and ability to set-up and assist in intervention procedures. 
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to set-up and assist in venous access procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability in the monitoring of sedation and the medications used during intervention procedures.
  • Obtains and records all patient data as required by the medical center, state, JCAHO or other agencies. Ensure proper charging of all procedures, coding, and modifiers are correct.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability of inventory status and control.  Rotates stock, maintains and adequate quantity.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of ICD and CPT codes
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

       Education and National Credentials:

  • Graduate of an approved accredited program of Radiologic Technology. 
  • ARRT(R)(CV) or ARRT(R)(VI) registered.
  • Current CPR certification

      State Licensure:

  • Kentucky:
    • KBMIRT Radiation Operators License (Radiography).
  • Indiana:
    • Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) License Radiologic Technologist

Specialized Knowledge: 

  • Excellent understanding of radiation protection and sterile technique.
