MA Intern Training Program
The St. Elizabeth Physicians Medical Assistant Training Program is an accelerated course designed for both internal and external candidates who are passionate about advancing their careers in the medical field. This comprehensive program equips aspiring medical assistants with essential skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience needed to excel in this dynamic and rewarding profession.
Participants will embark on an intensive journey that combines theoretical learning with practical application, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.
Throughout the program, interns will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced healthcare professionals, gaining invaluable insights and mentorship. This immersive approach enhances their learning experience and prepares them to transition seamlessly into roles within the healthcare industry.

Program Overview

Duration: 12 weeks.

Classroom Training: 6 weeks (Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).

Externships: 2 weeks in a specialty and 4 weeks in primary care.

Final Assessment: A comprehensive skills and competency evaluation at the end of the externship.
Class sizes are structured based on organizational needs to provide an optimal learning experience.
Upon successful completion of the program and passing the final assessments, the MA Intern will transition to the role of MA I and secure permanent placement as a Medical Assistant within the organization.

Requirements
A signed Work/Training Agreement upon acceptance into the program, committing to giving TWO YEARS of employment to
St. Elizabeth Physicians. If two years of employment with St. Elizabeth Physicians is not successfully completed; repayment of the training will be required.
PAY RANGE:
$16.24 – 18.68, based on previous work experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be 18 years or older.
- Have at least 1 year of work experience.
- Have obtained a High School Diploma or GED.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- Pass a drug screen and background check.
- Be a US citizen or permanent resident/green card holder.

Minimum: H.S. Diploma/GED
