First Year Residents

Andrew Arnold, MD
Dr. Andrew Arnold was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from Centre College in Danville, KY where he studied Biology and Spanish and played football. He completed his medical degree at the University of Kentucky- Northern Kentucky campus.
Andrew’s father completed his family medicine residency training at St. Elizabeth in 1987 and therefore knew of their superb reputation for training quality physicians from a young age. He was fortunate to spend his third-year family medicine clerkship at the Center for Family Medicine and completed an acting internship in his fourth year with the inpatient team. He was impressed at the confidence and competence of all the resident physicians he interacted with as well as their willingness to teach. Most importantly, he noticed their relationships extended beyond the hospital and clinic and continued out to the pickleball court, class dinners, etc. Andrew’s special interests within family medicine include sports medicine, lifestyle medicine, and education, whether it be patients or medical students.
Andrew and his wife Danielle are active members in their local church community, and he is the deacon of the men’s ministry. He loves to play pickleball and slow pitch softball, watch sports, and cook in his free time.

Corryn Caudy, MD
Dr. Corryn Caudy was born in Georgetown, Ohio and grew up in Bright, Indiana. She earned her bachelor of science in human biology from Indiana University and her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine.
Corryn’s first residency interview was with St. Elizabeth. She found herself comparing every other program to them, with St. Elizabeth always coming out on top. She knew that St. Elizabeth was where she was meant to be. She is excited about St. Elizabeth’s full-spectrum, unopposed training that occurs in a welcoming environment with supportive faculty and co-residents. Corryn is interested in all aspects of family medicine but has specific interest in sports medicine, lifestyle medicine, and comprehensive outpatient care.
Outside of medicine, Corryn enjoys watching and playing a variety of sports, with a specific passion for IU football and basketball. She loves spending time with friends and family, exercising, and being outside!

Annalee Brewer Darpel, MD
Dr. Annalee Brewer Darpel grew up in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. She earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Northern Kentucky University. She then earned her medical degree at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
Since early in her medical training, Annalee had a strong interest in the residency program at St. Elizabeth, and after completing a rotation there during her fourth year of medical school, she knew St. Elizabeth was the perfect fit. She was instantly impressed by the robust training in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as the confidence and camaraderie demonstrated by all the residents. Her specific interest within Family Medicine is Geriatric Medicine.
In her free time, Annalee enjoys spending time with her husband, Noah, and their dog, Aleigha. She also likes all things health and fitness, listening to podcasts, watching documentaries, and spending time with friends and family. Northern Kentucky has and always will be home for Annalee and her family, and she feels privileged to return home to serve the community that raised her.

Molly Daugherty, MD
Dr. Molly Daugherty was born at St. Elizabeth Edgewood and raised in Gardnersville, KY. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Northern Kentucky University and attended medical school at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
Having experienced St. Elizabeth both as a patient and during her clinical rotations, Molly was drawn to the program for its exceptional patient care and the strong camaraderie between residents and faculty. She is excited about the opportunity to train in the community where she grew up and is passionate about giving back to the region she calls home.
Molly values the importance of high-quality care, teamwork, and mentorship—qualities she witnessed firsthand at St. Elizabeth. She looks forward to refining her clinical skills while contributing to the program and to the health of the community.
Outside of medicine, Molly enjoys Pilates, yoga, golf, cooking, spending time outdoors with her dog, and cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals and UK Wildcats.

Mikayla Demetrakis, MD
Dr. Mikayla Demetrakis was born in Plano, TX but spent most of her formative years in Union, KY. She earned her bachelor’s and medical degree at the University of Louisville.
Mikayla fell in love with St. Elizabeth after learning more about the program during her interview day. She found herself impressed by the personable faculty and robust training offered in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Furthermore, as someone interested in women’s health, Mikayla was thrilled to learn that St. Elizabeth had a family medicine led labor & delivery ward. Mikayla has a variety of interests within medicine but finds women’s health, diabetes, and outpatient procedures particularly interesting.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family and fiancé, Sedekia. She also enjoys pottery, trying new restaurants, and exploring the city.

Abigail Epplen, MD
Dr. Abbey Epplen grew up in Edgewood Kentucky, just minutes from where she now cares for patients at St. Elizabeth. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame and obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Pre-Health supplementary major. She earned her medical degree and Master of Public Health from the University of Cincinnati.
Throughout her medical education, she discovered her ardent passion for primary care, public health, and working with vulnerable populations. In choosing St. Elizabeth for her family medicine residency, she dedicated herself to embracing the wide scope of family medicine by learning from supportive and engaged faculty and colleagues.
In her free time, Abbey enjoys reading, drawing, finding new ways to stay active, and celebrating little moments with family and friends, locally or across the map!

Jessica Fulton, MD
Dr. Jessica Fulton was raised in South Vienna, Ohio, in Clark County—the birthplace of 4-H. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in Child Abuse and Neglect from The Ohio State University, where she also went on to receive her medical degree.
Jess was drawn to St. Elizabeth for its robust obstetrics training, rigorous inpatient care, and hands-on procedural opportunities. After her interview, she knew that with the support and mentorship of the compassionate, skilled residents, faculty, and staff at St. Elizabeth, she could grow into the full-spectrum physician she aspires to be—caring for patients at every stage of life. Jess’s specific interests within Family Medicine include obstetrics and gynecology, sexual health, procedures, hospice and palliative care, and rural and underserved medicine. Both in and out of the clinic, she values creating a space where people feel safe, respected, empowered, and heard.
In her free time, Jess enjoys hot yoga, lifting at Planet Fitness, and spending quality time with friends and family. With her husband, Joe, she loves cheering on the Cincinnati Reds and discovering new vegetarian-friendly restaurants.

Zoey Knox, MD
Dr. Zoey Knox was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and grew up in Maysville, Kentucky. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Northern Kentucky University before continuing her medical education at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine – Northern Kentucky campus.
Zoey completed her clinical rotations at St. Elizabeth during medical school, where she had the opportunity to work alongside residents and faculty who made a lasting impression on her. St. Elizabeth’s rigorous, unopposed, full-spectrum training and its supportive, collaborative environment made it her top choice. She is particularly passionate about lifestyle medicine, preventive care, and providing care to underserved populations.
Outside of medicine, Zoey enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with her husband, Zack, reading, and practicing hot yoga.

Logan Thayer, MD
Dr. Logan Thayer was born and raised near Charlotte, North Carolina. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree as a Science-Business major at the University of Notre Dame, and attended Wayne State University School of Medicine for his medical degree.
Logan chose St. Elizabeth due to the incredible residency culture, full-spectrum training, community setting, and abundant opportunities in inpatient and sports medicine. While applying for residency, St. Elizabeth stood out to him due to the incredibly kind and supportive faculty and how impressive the residents seemed to be; he got a strong sense that the program trains residents to be rockstars, and that really resonated with him. His medical interests include sports medicine, ultrasound, preventative care, and inpatient medicine.
In his free time Logan enjoys trivia, watching Notre Dame football, and hanging out near the water at lakes, beaches, or rivers, as well as spending time with friends and family.

Margaret Woodruff, MD
Dr. Margaret Woodruff was raised in Wynne, Arkansas. She earned her bachelor’s degrees at the University of Arkansas and received her medical training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Margaret knew she wanted to apply to St. Elizabeth after meeting some of the faculty and residents at the AAFP national conference. The program’s unopposed, full spectrum training and holistic approach to patient care only reinforced her desire to train with all the people she interacted with during her interview. Margaret is passionate about reproductive health, underserved patient populations, and global health.
In her free time, Margaret loves staying active, reading, spending time with her cats, and exploring new restaurants. She also enjoys photography, traveling, and hiking.
Second Year Residents

Acha-Gisela Achenjang, MD
Dr. Acha-Gisela Achenjang was born in Bonn, Germany and raised in Germany and Cameroon.
She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Union Commonwealth University in Barbourville, Kentucky, and completed her medical school training at the University of Louisville, Kentucky.
Acha-Gisela chose the St. Elizabeth program to further her medical training because of its unopposed nature. This will give her the opportunity to train more intensely in different specialties while performing a variety of procedures. Because of her passion for women’s health, she was also thrilled at the opportunity to train at an obstetrics heavy program. In addition, she profoundly enjoyed her interview day and was elated by the warm culture she experienced.
Outside of medicine, Acha-Gisela enjoys spending time and staying connected with her family. Her other interests include cooking, baking, singing, and traveling with her husband and two daughters.

Grant Barnett, MD
Dr. Grant Barnett was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He later earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
Grant has a passion for primary care and outpatient medicine. He chose St. Elizabeth in order to train in practicing the full scope of family medicine. He also sought out the supportive faculty, great resident culture, and unopposed inpatient training that St. Elizabeth provides.
Outside of medicine, Grant has many hobbies including hiking, camping, and travel. He also loves activities at home, including yoga and board games.

Maia Forman, MD
Dr. Maia Forman was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended the University of Cincinnati where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences. She earned her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
In her fourth year of medical school, Maia had the opportunity to rotate at St. Elizabeth and immediately felt at home. She knew she would receive excellent training at the program and felt so supported by the amazing residents and faculty. She is committed to becoming a well-rounded primary care physician and knows St. Elizabeth will provide the education and opportunities to make this a reality.
In her free time, Maia enjoys crocheting, Pilates, watching Bengals games, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her friends and family.

Megan Hennon, DO
Dr. Megan Hennon was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Clemson University and her Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences at the University of South Carolina. She spent several years working as a nursing assistant and an ophthalmic technician before moving to Eastern Kentucky to complete her medical degree at the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Megan knew right away that St. Elizabeth was the perfect fit for her because of the supportive family environment here. The passion for teaching among the faculty and residents was abundantly clear, and the unopposed program status allowed for competitive full-spectrum medical training. Some of her special interests in medicine include both inpatient and outpatient procedures, lifestyle medicine, and diabetes management, as a Type 1 diabetic herself.
Outside of medicine, Megan is a huge football fan and especially loves cheering on the Clemson Tigers. She also enjoys playing basketball, learning guitar, trying new Pinterest recipes, and visiting friends and family across the country.

Nicole Hockemeyer, MD
Dr. Nicole Hockemeyer grew up in Indiana. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, and her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Nicole chose St. Elizabeth for its robust, unopposed training across inpatient and outpatient settings, and because she could see herself working well with the residents and faculty she interacted with during the interview and the second look event.
Outside of medicine, Nicole likes to bake and spend time with her husband. They are both excited to explore Northern Kentucky and find their new favorite restaurants, coffee shops, and walking trails!

Trevor Hoffman, MD
Dr. Trevor Hoffman was born and raised in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He graduated from Western Kentucky University earning degrees in Spanish and Biology. He spent a year teaching English to middle school students in Madrid, Spain before attending medical school at the University of Kentucky’s Bowling Green campus.
Trevor completed his third-year clinical clerkship at St. Elizabeth and credits the program for opening his eyes to all of the opportunities within Family Medicine. He instantly felt like a part of the team thanks to the comradery shown by the residents. His specific interests within Family Medicine include Hospice and Palliative care.
In his free time, Trevor enjoys hiking, skiing, tennis, and playing board games.

Lauren Lawrence, DO
Dr. Lauren Lawrence was born in Northern Kentucky at St. Elizabeth’s Edgewood Campus and was raised in Union, Kentucky. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgetown College in Kentucky, and attended medical school at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Auburn, Alabama.
Prior to medical school, Lauren shadowed multiple St. Elizabeth physicians and quickly learned of St. Elizabeth’s exceptional reputation. She was drawn to the opportunities presented by an unopposed residency and the Obstetrics fellowship program. Lauren felt welcomed by the faculty and residents during her interview and immediately recognized an encouraging and uplifting culture, which is exactly what she was looking for in a residency program. She knew this was where she wanted to continue her medical training! In the future, Lauren hopes to practice full-spectrum family medicine with an emphasis in obstetrics and women’s health.
Outside of medicine, Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband, Alec, baking sourdough bread, reading, and playing soccer. She has always considered Northern Kentucky her home and feels privileged to have the opportunity to give back to the community that raised her!

Wyatt Stahl, MD
Dr. Wyatt Stahl was born in Lakenheath, England and eventually raised in Lima, Ohio. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology at Wright State University, while competing in Cross Country and Track & Field. He earned his medical degree at Wright State University – Boonshoft School of Medicine.
While taking a walk around the campus after his interview, Wyatt realized that St. Elizabeth set the standard for other programs. Their commitment to creating full-spectrum family medicine physicians in an unopposed setting, and the respect that the community has for the residents, is unparalleled. Wyatt’s interests involve rural medicine, inpatient and outpatient medicine, women’s health, and Obstetrics.
Outside of the hospital, Wyatt enjoys running, hiking/backpacking, disc golf, playing guitar, and spending time with friends and family.

Angela Warning, MD
Dr. Angela Warning was born and raised in Florence, Kentucky. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Northern Kentucky University. She then earned her medical degree from the University of Kentucky.
Angela completed the majority of her medical education within the St. Elizabeth system and is excited to continue her training in this system. She was drawn to St. Elizabeth because the program offered rigorous inpatient and outpatient training, along with wonderful residents and faculty. She sought a program that valued both patient care and support from every aspect of the program. She was happy to find those qualities here at St. Elizabeth. Her special interests in medicine include sports medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, and procedures.
In her free time, Angela loves playing and watching most sports. She spends much of her time with her 5 nieces and nephews, including activities ranging from football to baseball to cheer competitions. She also enjoys exploring new restaurants and attending the plentiful street fairs that Cincinnati hosts in the spring and summer.
Third Year Residents
Logan Hickey, MD
Dr. Logan Hickey was born and raised in Scott County, Kentucky. He graduated from the University of Kentucky earning degrees in Software Engineering, Mathematics, and Neuroscience. Before completing his medical training at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, he deferred acceptance for one year to serve as a missionary in Guatemala.
Throughout senior rotations, Logan found that St Elizabeth prepared their resident physicians to perform the full spectrum of family medicine with confidence. He has specific interests in sports medicine, rural medicine, obstetrics, and inpatient/emergency procedures. Logan hopes to make an impact at the crossroads of healthcare, technology and business by leveraging his background in software and pursuit of a Master’s in Business Administration.
Logan lives with his family in Edgewood, Kentucky – the perfect location for two grandmothers that love to babysit!! He spends free time exploring new coffee shops and food trucks with his wife, Carly, and getting into trouble with his one-year-old son, Ezra. He enjoys football, being on any body of water, software development, mathematics, and listening to business podcasts.
Benjamin Hood, MD
Dr. Benjamin Hood grew up in the Philadelphia suburb of Marlton, NJ before attending The Ohio State University for his undergraduate degree in neuroscience. He spent a year working as a PCA in the James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, OH before attending the University of Cincinnati for his medical degree.
Benjamin chose St. Elizabeth to continue his Family Medicine training because of the resident culture surrounding patient care and the program’s dedication to resident education and development. After rotating with the residency as a medical student, he knew that St. Elizabeth’s rigorous, unopposed training in the broad spectrum of Family Medicine in both inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as the emphasis on obstetrical training, created a perfect match.
In his free time, Benjamin enjoys exploring the many disc golf courses around Cincinnati, playing piano, and brewing new beer recipes at home.
Joseph McIntyre, MD
Dr. Joseph McIntyre was born and raised in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Western Kentucky University, while playing football for WKU. He attended the University of Kentucky College of Medicine-Bowling Green Campus for his medical training.
Joseph chose St. Elizabeth for its rich history of providing excellent full spectrum medical training to its physicians. During his interview and second look, he was immediately impressed with the collaborative culture of the program, as well as the family atmosphere cultivated by the residents and faculty. His specific interests in Family Medicine include sports medicine and outpatient procedures.
Outside of medicine, Joseph enjoys spending time with family, friends, and his dog, Sadie. He participates in multiple outdoor activities such as golf, basketball, and pickleball. He is also an avid baseball and football fan.
Grace Owens, MD
Dr. Grace Owens was born and raised in Cincinnati. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh and worked in the medical device industry before earning her medical degree from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
Grace is thrilled to be back in the Greater Cincinnati area for her residency training with St Elizabeth. She chose St Elizabeth for its strengths in both inpatient and outpatient medicine and for being such a well-rounded, unopposed Family Medicine program.
Outside of medicine, Grace enjoys biking on rail trails, listening to audiobooks on the Libby app, spending time with her family (especially when hiking together in a National Park), and cooking.
Virginia Parker, DO
Dr. Virginia Parker grew up in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from the University of Central Florida and went on to join the world-renowned Cirque du Soleil for several years before entering medical school at Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee.
Ginny has a strong interest in sports and performance medicine as well as women’s health. She was drawn to St. Elizabeth because of the broad scope of training offered as well as the excellence and humanity shown by the faculty and residents.
When away from the clinic, Ginny enjoys spending time with her family, her dog, thumb wrestling, kayaking, and is always on the lookout for great coffee.
Connor Smith, MD
Dr. Connor Smith was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and eventually raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He attended the University of Louisville for his undergraduate, Master’s, and medical degrees. His Master’s degree is in biomedical engineering with a focus on medical device design.
Connor is excited to continue his medical education in Northern Kentucky. He chose St. Elizabeth for its wide exposure and flexibility to develop a unique career. After interviewing at St. Elizabeth, Connor felt a strong connection to the residents and faculty who had already made him feel right at home. His major interests are in outpatient procedures and patient advocacy. In medical school, he was very active with the AMA and Kentucky Medical Association, and looks to continue that work at St. Elizabeth.
Outside of the hospital, Connor enjoys spending time with his wife – Megan, son – Henry, and two doodles – Gertie and Penny. He also is an avid road cycler, hobbyist beer brewer, and boardgame enthusiast.
Henry Kenny Spear, MD
Dr. Kenny Spear was born and raised in Somerset, Kentucky. He earned both his Bachelor of Science in biology and his medical degree from the University of Kentucky.
Kenny spent the duration of his medical training in Northern Kentucky and completed his clinical clerkships at St. Elizabeth. During this time, Kenny appreciated the culture of the St. Elizabeth program and knew early on this was where he wanted to stay for his residency training. He considers St. Elizabeth to be the standard for training well-rounded family medicine physicians and a program that will prepare him to provide exceptional care to his patients in any setting.
In his free time, Kenny enjoys spending time with his wife, Allie, and their dog, Arya. He enjoys being outdoors and is an avid Kentucky and Cincinnati sports fan.
Sarah Viverette, MD
Dr. Sarah Viverette was born in Lexington, Kentucky and grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. She earned her Bachelor of Science in biochemistry, as well as her medical degree, at University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.
Sarah chose St. Elizabeth for the broad spectrum of training and the feeling that it was the perfect fit from the first interview. The second look helped solidify this as the faculty and residents were both very welcoming and fostering the environment of collaboration. Although Sarah has a wide range of interests, in-patient medicine and critical care are one of her main passions. St. Elizabeth’s unopposed program allows for in-depth training in the ICU and allows every resident to become well-versed in any procedure.
Sarah and her husband, Dimitric, are excited to move into their first house in Northern Kentucky. They also have two dogs, Finn and Ollie, and love to spend time with them at dog parks. She also enjoys trying new restaurants and playing ice hockey.
Robert Caleb Vogel, MD
Dr. Caleb Vogel was raised in Shelbyville, Kentucky. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Centre College and attended the University of Kentucky College of Medicine for his medical training.
Caleb chose St. Elizabeth for its excellent inpatient and outpatient training, as well as its outstanding culture and sense of community. The program’s emphasis on comprehensive care aligns with his specific interests in outpatient primary care and sports medicine. The clinical training opportunities and collaborative learning environment of the program are expected to enable him to become a well-rounded physician.
Outside of medicine, Caleb enjoys playing sports such as soccer, basketball, and volleyball. He also enjoys spending time with his friends and family and participating in outdoor activities such as hiking and camping.
Dana Wolfer, DO
Dr. Dana Wolfer grew up around Dayton, Ohio. She earned her Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Biomedical Engineering at Wright State University and completed her medical degree at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dana chose St. Elizabeth for its opportunities in training for full-scope family practice, as well as it being an unopposed program. She also chose St. Elizabeth for its opportunities in OB training, which is a passion of hers. In the future, Dana hopes to practice full-scope rural medicine including inpatient medicine, outpatient medicine, and OB.
In her free time, Dana enjoys shooting sporting clays with her husband, spending time with her many dogs, and quilting. She also enjoys cooking and getting exercise through kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
