Overview
The Advanced Practice Provider is primarily responsible for providing patient care services, including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating and educating patients. The Advanced Practice Provider works closely with physicians and other clinicians in a team approach to patient care. The Advanced Practice Provider is a highly visible position that is always responsible for creating a positive impression with patients, physicians and other visitors he/she encounters, both in person and on the phone.
The Advanced Practice Provider is accountable for activities that support meeting St. Elizabeth Physicians’ financial goals and objectives. The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible to support all members of the Administrative and Management Teams.
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of advanced practice including anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology and therapeutics, basic nutrition, behavioral factors, psychosocial/family systems, diagnostic testing, interpretation of results and clinical decision making, alternative treatment modalities.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments used to administer patient care.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environment.
- Knowledge of health promotions, health risk identification, and patient education principles and techniques.
- Knowledge of community, professional and education resources.
OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Skill in oral and written communication including interviewing to gather medical histories; providing presentations, consultations, facilitation, and documentation.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records.
- Skill in case management, time management, problem solving, crisis intervention, multitasking and other organizational matters.
- Ability to analyze complex data and draw conclusions.
- Ability of interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, clinical employees and the public.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team-based decision-making culture.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently resulting in effective outcomes and on-time performance.
- Experience in planning and coordinating multi-disciplinary communications strategies, strategic initiatives, and events.
- Must respond and follow through to requests from customers promptly.
- Must work carefully and precisely with attention to detail.
- Must utilize resources wisely.
- Performs duties willingly and with initiative. Shares necessary information so co-workers can do the same.
- Cooperates with other departments and work groups.
Minimum:
3-5 Years of APP Acute Care Experience required.
APRN or PA degree/certification required.
