Job Summary:
The Cashier position will provide coverage for the Gift Shop’s posted hours of operation. Cashier will fill in shifts where the gift shop has no volunteer coverage or a volunteer is working alone.Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.
Job Description:
- Cashiers in the shop working alone or as a team with volunteers unable to be alone. Result: Provides shop continuity.
- Checks in stock and restocks daily delivery merchandise. Result: Verifies accurate delivery and increases shop productivity assuring rapid turnover of daily merchandise.
- Straightens and cleans shop (Environmental Services does not clean shop). Result: Immaculate presentation of shop.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Gift Shop Manager. Result: Smooth Gift Shop operations.
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
- High School/GED
Specialized Knowledge:
- Keen understanding of retail sales
- Ability to work in a volunteer environment
- Cash register experience
Kind and Length of Experience:
- 1 years cashiering experience including working in retail sales.
