Job Summary:

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Nurse Manager for our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) located within the Edgewood Hospital.

Our Edgewood hospital was recently awarded the #1 Hospital in the state of Kentucky and the Greater Cincinnati Area by US News and World Report. This recognition places the Edgewood hospital among the top 3% of hospitals in the country and further supports the culture of excellence across St. Elizabeth. The Nurse Manager in the NICU will lead within a 5-time Magnet Designated hospital where shared governance is embedded in the culture, empowering nurses to participate in decision making and improve patient outcomes. The Nurse Manager is a transformational leader who values nurse autonomy, professional development, collaboration and continuous quality improvement. The women’s service line has been awarded Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care as designated by The Joint Commission. The Nurse Manager will ensure the NICU remains committed to delivering exceptional care, achieving high-quality outcomes and advancing innovative programs which meet the evolving needs of our communities.

Shift/Hours: Full-Time – 40 hours/week, 1st Shift

Job Description:

The Nurse Manager has 24/7 responsibility for leadership and management functions of an operational business unit. They demonstrate the ability to manage a diverse work team to accomplish the strategic plan of the organization. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the delivery of evidence-based quality patient care and managing the daily operations, including staffing, budget, supplies, equipment, and physician relations. They are responsible for hiring, evaluating, and maintaining competent staff to serve patient needs in a busy, fast-paced environment and provide direct patient care as required.

Qualifications
Education, Credentials, Licenses:

  • BSN (MSN Desired)

  • Graduate of accredited School of Nursing

  • If eligible, must have a Compact (multi-state) License in their primary state of residence.

  • Licensed to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed.

  • Meets contact hours requirements for Licensure, including all state-required courses.

  • Certification in clinical specialty or leadership is desired.


Specialized Knowledge: Ability to direct self and others and interpret nursing Policies and Procedures and standards. Knowledge of Management theory. Demonstrates application of Leadership concepts. Clinical expertise relevant.

Kind and Length of Experience: 3 years nursing leadership experience relevant to the NICU and evidence of demonstrated career progression through leadership positions that highlight growth in strategic decision making, team development and operational excellence. Operational experience should include direct work with staffing/scheduling and managing a unit/department budget.
