The professional Specialty Resource Radiologic Technologist provides evidence-based patient care and ensures high quality imaging obtainment to meet the needs of the patient in the Interventional radiology and Vascular surgery settings. RT Specialty Resource is responsible for appropriately delegating tasks to other licensed/unlicensed health care team members as deemed appropriate by training and education. The RT collaborates with a multidisciplinary healthcare team when providing patient care. Responsible for ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and coordination of activities within assigned specialty. Responsible for ensuring the availability of specialty instrumentation, equipment, and supplies for interventional and vascular procedures. Responsible for education, orientation and development of other RTs within specialty.Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Job Duties:
Performs all the duties of staff Radiologic technologist in Interventional Radiology.
Guides staff and serves as a resource in all technical matters.
Ensure quality of procedures is performed and reviewed.
Responsible for the training, evaluating and maintaining qualified competent staff and oversees staff regarding proper use and function of necessary imaging equipment.
Ensure proper charging of all procedures, coding, and modifiers are correct for Radiologic exams, equipment and supplies.
Analyzes and coordinates patient safety and accreditation activities to achieve continuous survey readiness in interventional radiology. This includes participation in mock surveys, tracer activities, and developing and disseminating feedback of those activities as conducted by the Patient Safety and Accreditation Team.
Collaborate with staff, manager, physician and Director of Interventional Radiology regarding new products/equipment and procedures.
On-Call Responsibilities: Responds in the required time frame for emergent cases and is prepared/ready within the required time frame.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
- Graduate of an AMA School of Radiological Technology and/or registered by the ARRT (R)(CT) Registered.
- Bachelors degree
- Current CPR certification.
State Licensure:
Kentucky:
KBMIRT Radiation Operators License (Radiography).
Indiana:
Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) License Radiologic Technologist
Specialized Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of specific Interventional or vascular specialty procedures and imaging including anatomy, Trans-catheter procedures, specialty supplies and equipment.
- Competent to independently assist with all procedures and skills.
- Ability to evaluate and train other RTs in all skills and procedures.
Kind and Length of Experience:
- 3 years experience in Interventional/vascular procedural radiology as an RT
- Previous experience in a similar operating room position.
- Experience in assigned specialty.
- Experience with video systems/technology/informatics.
