Job Summary:

THIS POSITION IS ON SITE (FLORENCE, KY)

This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining clinical, operational, and financial reports for the Ortho/Neuro management team. Also, will review reports for specific information and entering of data. The Ortho/Neuro Data Analyst will work in collaboration with the Ortho/Neuro leadership team to identify opportunities for improvement; and assist with the development of action plans to improve clinical outcomes/quality and reduce variability. The Data/Analytics Specialist will collect data and perform analytics to support the development of optimal solutions for business problems by bringing new insights. This position will assist in the development of any reporting needed to meet accreditation requirements as well as the development of flowcharts for Ortho/Neuro processes. This position will help support all Ortho/Neuro departments across the system. Job Description:

  • Development of clinical/quality, operational and financial reports for the Ortho/Neuro Management team.
  • Manages clinical databases and refers potentially actionable items to appropriate staff. 
  • Will pay particular attention to data related to Pay-for-Performance, quality, turnaround time and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with quality and care management teams to provide analysis.
  • Conduct data-driven communication between operating units and functions
  • Test designs and analytical methods and make recommendations for their utilization.
  • Provide troubleshooting support and maintain up-to-date end-user clinical analytics applications.
  • Develop system-level standard scorecards and reports, integrating clinical, operational, and financial information (including third party data).
  • Identify high-performing areas / opportunities for improvement based on performance data.
  • Monitor system clinical effectiveness strategies and metrics.

Maintain monthly clinical, quality, and financial reports for the Ortho/Neuro Management team. Analyze data for gaps and research issues as appropriate.

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret clinical data, forecasting and trends that affect the healthcare field and the organization.
  • Using input from clinical system and region leaders, track performance, using defined metrics.
  • Collect, organize, and present performance information and assist leadership with interpretation and support to identify, evaluate, develop, implement, and monitor post-implementation results of performance improvement efforts.
  • Build (monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, annual) clinical forecast and trend reports regarding St. Elizabeth and the healthcare industry.
  • Develop ad-hoc reports and analyses
  • Manage databases and registries

Work in collaboration with the Director, Ortho and Neuro to identify opportunities for improvement; and assist with the development of action plans to improve clinical outcomes/quality, patient satisfaction and reduce variability.

Collaborates with Ortho/Neuro management on pertinent activities.  Ensures that both internal and external data benchmarking opportunities are taken advantage of and integrated in decision support reporting.

Development of process flow documents for the Ortho/Neuro areas of operation. Works closely with leadership to analyze ongoing trends.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Statistics, Data Analysis, Informatics, Evaluative Clinical Sciences, Health Care Management, or other related area of health care focus

Specialized Knowledge: 

  • Knowledge of spreadsheets, databases
  • Advanced computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio Outlook, SQL, Midas Solutions, and McKesson Decision Support applications or other equivalent systems.
  • Data analytic abilities

Kind and Length of Experience:

  • Five years experience in data or statistical analysis, reporting, and strategic recommendations for improvement.
  • Five years experience in healthcare.
