Job Summary:

The Workforce Development Specialist provides essential administrative and logistical support to the Workforce Development team, ensuring the smooth execution of programs and initiatives.

Job Description:

Program Coordination

Provide program coordination and support for organization development, education and training programs, classes, events, etc.  and related functions. 

  • Develop partnerships with community organizations and educational institutions to create a pipeline of qualified candidates.
  • Schedule rooms/facilities for programs
  • Create, prepare, and modify program materials
  • Handle registration process (registrations and cancellations)
  • Recordkeeping (prepare and maintain) related files and documents
  • Electronically updates course information

Communications

  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to connect with community organizations, educational institutions, and potential candidates.   
  • Represent the organization at job fairs, conferences, and community events to promote career opportunities.
  • Conduct presentations and workshops to educate the community about career pathways and training opportunities in healthcare.
  • Collaborate with the talent acquisition team to develop and implement recruitment strategies, including attending career fairs and building relationships with schools.

Reports

  • Develops, maintains, and modifies workforce development metrics and data.   
  • Participates in creating custom or unique workforce reports to assist internal and external customers.   
  • Translate complex data into clear, concise, and engaging presentations.

Technology Troubleshooting

  • Utilize software programs to support the educational functions (e.g. LMS, room scheduling system, Peoplesoft, online survey tool, contract management system, and Policies and Procedures).  
  • Troubleshoot software to identify issues and errors.
  • Report software and/system malfunctioning to appropriate IS/vendor contact.
  • Utilize enterprise resource planning (ERP) software to assist with tagging and tracking potential candidates.
  • Work with internal marketing team to ensure the workforce development website is up to date with current programs and information.

Program Materials

  • Collaborate with the workforce development team to determine an adequate level of education and department supplies and forms through PAR Level and purchase requisitions. 
  • Enter requisitions, track purchases and resolve discrepancies, including capital and operating expenses.
  • Monitor and maintain program materials and supplies.

Maintains and enhances professional and technical skills. 

Other duties as assigned or directed. 

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or a related field.

Specialized Knowledge: 

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Kind and Length of Experience: 

  • 1 year of experience in program coordination, human resources, or a related field.
