Job Summary:
Fully responsible for cleaning of most cooking equipment in the kitchen and café. Cleans hoods, jade ranges, ovens, and does all floor cleaning. Performs janitorial duties as assigned.Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.
Job Description:
- Equipment: Perform deep cleaning tasks and duties such as cleaning ranges, ovens, hoods, trash bins and other work surfaces to meet high quality standards. Monitor equipment for defects, damage or misuse and report maintenance needs to supervisors.
- Floors: Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, hosing, squeegee and use of floor scrubbing machine. Includes kitchen and cafeteria serving areas.
- Physical Plant: Dust high and low; clean ceilings, vents, light fixtures, walls, doors, baseboards, cove tile.
- Safety: Place warning signs about wet floors or other risky areas to protect self and others. Utilize personal protective equipment such as gloves, goggles and masks to prevent injuries. Knowledge of what to use for cleaning various surfaces. Understanding of what cleaning substances can and cannot be mixed.
- Quality: Compliance with all local, state, federal and medical center regulatory, safety, sanitation and security standards. Participate in performance improvement (PI) studies; assist with data collection and supports action plans.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
