Job Description:
Join our Clinical Dietitian team at St. Elizabeth Healthcare!
- Evaluate and assess nutritional status of patients. Initiate medical nutrition therapy to achieve patient goals. Establish nutrition diagnosis and develop individualized plan of care with appropriate interventions.
- Re-assess / Monitor patients to evaluate the effectiveness of medical nutrition therapy and adjust patients plan of care. Evaluate process towards goals.
- Accurately assess, prescribe, and maintain nutritional interventions for enteral and parenteral supported patients.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and timely discharge.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served including: newborn, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Serve as a resource lecturer for healthcare providers, students, and the community. Precept dietetic interns for supervised practice experience.
- Quality: Compliance with all local, state, federal, and medical center regulatory, safety, sanitation, and security standards. Participates in performance improvement (PI) studies, assist with data collections and supports action plans.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
- Bachelors Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field
- Registered Dietitian or RDE (RD Eligible) as defined by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Licensed as a dietitian / nutritionist by the State where work is being performed.
Specialized Knowledge:
- Comprehensive knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-specific, population specific, and diagnosis related care to patients.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, problem solving, time management and decision making skills
