Job Description:
Join our Facilities Maintenance Team at St. Elizabeth Edgewood!
Our Maintenance techs investigate problems and perform general maintenance and repair services to a wide variety of equipment and building systems. Focus is on work of minimal complexity and turnaround time to serve immediate customer needs. Other positions cover more extensive repairs that require specialized knowledge and longer downtime.
Customer Service-
- Responds to requests for service promptly. Interacts courteously with staff, patients and visitors and plans work to minimize disruption. Observes proper etiquette regarding patient privacy.
Clerical-
- Documents all work performed by completely and accurately completing maintenance logs, work orders and in- service records and submits them to the appropriate parties for review and recording.
Asset Maintenance-
- Perform repairs to beds, stretchers and wheelchairs. Identify, troubleshoot, and correct problems with HVAC, Plumbing, Medical Gas, Mechanical, and Electrical systems.
- Beds troubleshoot and repair and perform Preventive Maintenance on Stretchers and Wheelchairs.
Electrical-
- Replace bulbs and ballasts.
- Change nurse call items, televisions, receptacles, plugs, and trace tripped breakers.
Plumbing & Medical Gas-
- Rebuild faucets; unclog sinks and toilets.
- Replace traps; vacuum breakers; aerators, and medical gas outlets.
Miscellaneous-
- Repair and move furniture.
- Hang and install miscellaneous items. Perform minor HVAC repairs.
- Read and interpret drawings and manuals to troubleshoot problems. Assist other trades and complete other work as assigned. Assist in snow removal.
Safety-
- Exhibits the use of safe practices regarding electrical safety, lock- out/ tag out procedures, confined space entry, asbestos and mold abatement, welding/ cutting, universal precautions, and personal protective equipment, Observes all safety precautions in the use of hand and power tools.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
High School Diploma
Specialized Knowledge:
Must have the ability to understand basic.
mechanical and electrical systems, read.
instructions, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on those systems.
Must have a valid drivers license and a driving record that will meet SEHC insurance requirements.
Kind and Length of Experience:
2 years of experience in institutional building Maintenance
