This position assists in the technical oversight of the daily activities of a Laboratory department or Laboratory section to include the functions of personnel scheduling, quality control review, quality assurance management, workflow processing and instrument management. Management of testing instrumentation includes knowledge and a level of expertise at trouble shooting, data flow related to the Laboratory Information systems during typical processes but includes the Laboratory Information systems or Hospital Systems downtime and recovery. This position performs medical diagnostic testing and specimen processing in the Clinical Laboratory. Education, Credentials, Licenses:
- Baccalaureate Degree in a Biological Science with completion of a NAACLS approved Medical Technology Program along with certification from a nationally recognized certifying agency as a Medical Technologist
OR
- Baccalaureate Degree in a related field of Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Microbiology) AND an advanced degree/certification in related field (i.e. MA in Chemistry, MA in Molecular or Microbiology, Certification in Molecular Diagnostics, etc.)
OR
- CLIA 889 Equivalent (HEW/HHS Certification)
Specialized Knowledge:
Chemistry experience required.
